I have had experience with both and have two opinions.
1) It is fairly easy to locate and install the nozzle conversion to convert a
gas dryer to propane (Sears Parts Service is a good source.)
2) Gas clothes dryers work faster and are cheaper to operate (not so sure with
fuel supply price trends).

We're moving away from city gas service and need some advice regarding
clothes drying. Should we dump our dryer and get an electric one or convert
this one from natural gas to propane? We're going to have a propane tank
for cooking and plumbing it to the dryer will be simple.
I've always felt that gas dryers worked faster than electric ones. Would
this still hold using propane? Which is cheaper: electric or propane? And
is it a big difference or minimal?
OK, it's a bit of a stretch calling it a shop related question. Well, I do
wash and dry my work clothes.
