Thanks to Todd for the link and Mark for pointing out how applicable it is!

The "repair example" suggests that the turntable hinge is acrylic. But I'll try 
their plastics identifying flowchart to confirm that.

If you look on www.urethanesupply.com for their "Repair examples" - the
third item shown on the "household items" example is indeed a turntable lid
with the hinge tab shown as having been repaired!
