Believe it. My high-school mates used this stuff. I used a different product
called U-go Blue Goo. It was actually a coating. Worked great but did not
last. I found it was good for 7 laps of our 10-lap races, so I would build
up a lead, then ease off and hope my opponent could not catch me at the end.
Often, this strategy worked.
