I doubt oven cleaner or even paint stripper would work.  I routinely use
plastic sheet to cover paint stripper to keep it from drying out so
fast and oven cleaner is chemically very similar.  Lacquer thinner 
doesn't seem to have much effect on plastic, either.  On the other
hand acetone will eventually melt chemical resistant gloves and 
zaps non cotton rags almost instantly.
