engine lathe?

 A bunch of people will probably tell you they can get much better deals
than that, but prices vary dramatically by location.

 If it's not beat all to hell or missing anything obvious, it'd be a
hell of a deal around here.  Not only that, but *short* lathes are rare
as honest politicians; my 16" South Bend has an EIGHT FOOT bed; not only
does it suck up way too much floor space, but I don't need to make
driveshafts or cannon barrels that often.

 An "engine" lathe means it has a power carriage feed and other useful
doodads, as opposed to a "simple" lathe, which is just a bed, headstock,
and tailstock, like a woodworking lathe.

 Buy it!
