I have not seen such a listing in my 20+ years in the business. I
suspect that a rebuilder might have something like that. In every big city
there is at least one "R&R" rebuilder. Find one close to you and have a
conversation with the inhouse guru. You may already be at this stage.
Often they can take a case from one unit and combine it with a drive-end
housing from another and get to exactly what you need. But you have to find
the guy who is knowledgable and willing to take the time. Wouldn't hurt if
he is an enthusiast who would take a personal interest in your project.
BTW, if you have a good core it may be cheaper to have yours rebuilt.
Also, the diesel windings are going to be heavier than what you may need or
want.
You might also take a look at what the formula guys, drag racers and
circle track guys are using. There are a variety of "universal" starters
based on Jap reduction-gear starters. Start by looking at Tilton. I think
they would be in the $200 price range. Might even get some free technical
help from the vendor.
