I've seen the panel doors insulated with the foil backed insulation
board glued directly to the panels...I'm sure this adds "some" degree
of insulation but I would think the sealing the cracks and gaps around
the door would help much more...I think the wind blowing past the door
cracks would act as a very good chimney to suck out your hot air as
fast as you could make it... but then again...there's no such thing
as too much insulation
