     Gentlemen,

if you decide to build over buy........

I want to add my 2 cents worth here also. I have an engine stand very
similar to the one in the book mentioned. 2" square tubing. While
it works perfectly fine on small block and 4 cyl. engines, it now has
a 460 ci block hanging from it. There is a definate sag and it takes
a good deal of effort to turn it over. Even with the zerk fittings
and the spindle well greased. I look forward to adding the 80 lb
crank and the 128 lbs of heads. Complete weight will be 750 lbs more
or less. My long awaited point being, consider what you might hang on
it in the future. I had never thought about a big block. My first
stand was built from schedule 80 4" pipe with a 1" thick faceplate for
mounting...should have never swapped it off... it DID NOT bend ! ever
     !!

     offered for your consideration

     john

btw...i have this book and plans if anyone needs a copy...
