I am getting ready to ship the engine from my Healey down to
the Healey Surgeons for rebuild. I have a somewhat reasonable
rate for shipping from Yellow Freight, but the local transfer agent
wants $180 to pick it up at my house and deliver it to Yellow Freight.
Yellow Freight does not do residential pickup in my area.

My other option is to rent a trailer and take it to the Yellow Freight
terminal (about 5 miles form my house).

With the charges for the transfer agent, we are starting to get
into a price range where it would almost pay for me to take a day
off work, rent a truck, and drive down to Md with the engine.

Are there any options other than freight (i.e. a trucking company)
for shipping the engine from Long Island to Maryland?
The engine weighs about 600 #.

thanks,
