I have had one of these for about a year and a half. They are made by
Devilbiss and they work fine although they are VERY LOUD! Actual
horsepower is closer to three and I think they lie a little about the
CFM's also, but only a little. The same model with the Devilbiss name on
it has a lower rating. Tanks last a long, long time. I don't think the
oil-less pumps would hold up well under constant use, but I've never had
a problem and I use it a lot for air tools, sandblasting, and painting.
Before I bought mine, I priced rebuild piston and cyl. kits at about
$50. BTW, the sale price of this unit is $359.99. It's a lot of air for
the money. If you get a stationary compressor, remember you'll also have
to get a regulator and filter unit and plumb everything properly to
eliminate moisture.

If you want to save money, don't get a Lincoln. Gas stuff isn't
junk...It's what makes it a MIG. Flux core is fine for welding oil
derricks in the wind, but for sheet metal work on cars you'll want a MIG
setup.
Right now, Costco/Price Club has the 130 amp Century Mig with Tweeco gun
and dual guage regulator for $399.(Sears just added the same unit at
$499) That's a good welder. A good cheap Mig is the Astro PowerMig 130.
They do a great job on sheet metal although for best results you have to
stop occasionally and curse the wire drive assembly in Italian. If you
can afford the SP 125+, it's a really good machine, but spend the extra
$60 for a tank of argon/co2 mix. It's worth it.
Sorry to be so long-winded, but you did ask for opinions. B.Z.
