Subject: Extra compressor tank question

I just recently got a Devilbis 5HP compressor and I'm in the process of
setting it up in my garage.

When reading the shop-talk archives I saw a suggestion to add more
volume in an air compressor system by connecting another tank (such as a
butane tank). I already have an 11 gallon air tank for use at the track,
and was considering hooking it up to provide extra storage for my
compressor, but I have a few questions:

1) Is this a good thing to do?

2) Would this setup have any effect on the CFM capabilities of my setup,
or does it just reduce cycle time?

3) Would quick disconnect couplings be OK to use for hooking it up (I
still want to easily be able to disconnect the tank for trips to the
track)?

4) Should I install it before or after the water trap / filter /
regulator/ tool oiler?

TIA for any advice, comments, etc.
