I have no comment on the SP (other than that I own an SP85 and like it).
I'd suggest getting a smaller bottle of gas and a smaller roll of wire.
You won't go through them that fast and you might want to try
something different before you use up all 80cf.

I don't know if you need a leather jacket, I've been able to do without- I
use a thick  old Army shirt, the same one I use for crawling under
cars and houses.  Spend the extra on a better hood and on some clamps
etc. to help you set up your work.  You almost can't have
too many clamps.  Also get some scrap and practice lots before
you need to weld something important.
