[oletrucks] ignition switch

OK Guys,

How do I get the key assembly out of my '56 Chevrolet ignition switch with out
tearing the switch up?  I don't have the key...  This is the V8 switch
[off-run-start].

Drill?  What size bit?  How deep?

Slide Hammer?  Will that break something inside that I need to save?

Should I just buy new?  How's the quality on the new/repro switch and key?
