Leon:
I used Poly-Ride liner when I rebuilt my front springs 2 years ago and have
been very pleased with the results. Front spring "squeaking" went away and
I noticed no significant difference in ride or handling.
Regarding the bolts being too short, are you sure you reassembled the bolts
in the manner they were removed? On my '56, the bolts are longer in the
front to accomodate the front shock lower mounting plates. Could you have
gotten them reversed? Vendors like Chevy Duty sell replacement bolts or you
may want to try a local suspension or spring rebuilding shop, I'll bet they
can provide them.
