1--I know of one case where one of the teflon additives was used and it
blocked oil flow and then caused damage in the valvetrain.
2--I also know that one of these companies (again, teflon-based) was
sucessfully sued for product misrepresentation.
I think you'd have a hard time finding unbiased test data, but it must be out
there somewhere; SAE papers maybe?
