Thanks Greg, now I want to drive the track and that in its self would be a
real thrill at any speed. I have not been following the procedures or
instruction as I did not think I would be able to do it. Do I pay on Sunday
and are there any dead-lines to get authorized for track laps?

I recently helped with signups and waivers for the Alfa Centenario parade
laps
at Infineon, and can tell you the following:
These laps are not like track day laps, but should be thought of more as
parade laps. As such, no helmets or other safety devices are required,
because
you won't be speeding around the track, passing, lagging back then gunning it
around the turns. The pace is rapid but safe, and won't get your adrenaline
going due to action, but just by being out on a race track with your friends.
Race course officials REALLY frown on these laps being used as race laps,
because the drivers presumably don't have race qualifications, their cars
aren't safety checked, and there is no safety gear. In the past, non-race
drivers have been killed on various tracks when they got over their heads,
and
the tracks are cautious about it nowadays. Think freeway speeds on the
straights, less on the turns.
