Sorry about the previous incomplete post.
At the factory I was told that if the wheel vibrates or shimmies, the
spinners will 'try' to move in a direction opposite that in which the wheel
is turning. Reversing the thread causes the spinners to always tend to
tighten (instead of loosen) when vibration is present in the wheel.
