Does anyone have any experience of tuning the 1.6 litre Fiesta XR2
engine fitted to 4/4s in the late 80s? I have a 4/4 4seater registered
in 1987 with the CVH (pre lean burn) engine fitted. I have a 4 branch
manifold, big bore exhaust and K&N filters fitted which has helped but
the car could use more power! I'm told that the next step is to increase
the capacity of the engine using the Pinto block - but can't afford this
major work. Does a modified head/cam/carb make much difference? Has
anyone tried this? I'm looking to spend several hundred pounds rather
than several thousand!
