I am a new member on your list. I am a proud owner of the 1959 MGA roadster.
Let me go straight to my problems and questions. Car was overheating on
regular day up to F 212. In stop and go traffic up to F 220. I took car to
two different MG specialists. Same results, just $480 was less on my checking
account. The last mechanic suggested to replace water pump and radiator.
Fool as I am, I did. Same results (temp up to F 212) and another gap of $260
in my account. Finally I decided to do it on my own. I bought strobe light
gauge feeler and adjusted points and timing as per Shop Manual. Now car runs
around F 190. My opinion is, that is still to high. Question is what to do
next 1) install additional fan, 2) oil cooler, 3) both, 4) have no idea what
to do next, and leave it as it is.

Topic #2: how to change polarity from POS ground to NEG ground. How to do it,
what to buy new.... Please explain in detail.

Topic #3: How to replace front left shock absorber.

Thanks in advance for your answer!
