One alternative reason for "sort of runs no throttle then dies" can be a sticky piston in the carburetor. Found that problem in my 60 Healey; after chasing up everything else, we pulled the carbs apart (first time since I'd bought the car) and found that the funny oil (pink, possible autotran oil?) they had been using instead of the recommended oil had crystallized and was causing the pistons to stick. |
