After asking around a bit I have confirmed my suspicion that coolant stop leak
products are not going to solve my problem, and may create more cooling woes
than anything else. So as I plan to pull the cover to fix the sealing surface
I still need to know if the lower front cover bolts go into the engine or not.
I need to fix them because the PO seems to have partially stripped them, but
before I start I need to know if the chips will be able to drop inside the
engine.
