Use a short piece of 1" x 1" angle bolted to the rear drivers side carb
mounting bolt. The piece is pointed left to right, extending about 2" beyond
the drivers side of the carb, with the upright leg to the rear. The mounting
hole is located so there will be no front to back movement of the angle.
Drill a hole in the upright leg to match the threaded end of the throttle
cable cover. Insert cable & fasten securely with the appropriate nuts on
each side of the angle.

On the throttle arm of the carb, you will find a small hole about 3/16"
which will accept the original MG cable stop used on HIF & HS style SU
carbs. All that is needed is a small washer & a cotter pin to hold the stop
on the arm. Extend the inner cable, tighten the nut on the stop & you are
done. If you do not have a cable stop from your original engine, it is Moss
# 375-108, $3.25 USD.

It will be necessary to remove the end from the cable housing & shorten the
housing so it is the correct length to reach your new bracket. Cut the end
from the inner cable & remove it before cutting the outer cable.

I use a double return spring, 1 inside the other, as required by many
competition associations. Cost is about $4.00 from Summit, NAPA, & others. A
piece of flat metal is bent & holes drilled to fit an intake manifold bolt &
the spring end.

I have used this set up on 3 cars, over 300,000 miles, never a failure,
cheap & easy.
