    So, I'm not the only one to forget the crank. First time I did this, I
thought something major had broken. It really sounds bad! I also installed a
Pertronix in my '52. The Pertronix did wonders for my old worn and wobbly
distributor. The timing mark is now steady under the strobe light, instead
of dancing around. Also, the Pertronix doesn't seem to mind all the oil
coming up the shaft. I couldn't keep the old points dry. (Ok, I probably
should rebuild the distributor. But in the mean time, the engine is running
pretty sweet.) Bud, did you notice a performance improvement with the
Pertronix? I swear my engine is smoother, and revs better now.
