Bob:

I've checked the TD Workshop Manual, TD owners Manual, TD factory parts
list, TF factory workshop manual, TF factory parts list, MGA twin cam
owners manual, MGA twin cam factory workshop manual, MGA twin cam
factory service parts list, MGA workshop manual by Haynes, Blowers book,
etc. I've found only two references that actually list the size of the
fuse.

In a MG "Service Manual" book published in Australia "By arrangement and
in associtation with British Motor Corporation (Aust.) Pty. Ltd.", both
fuses for the TD are listed as 35 amp.

In the MGA twin cam factory service parts list, both fuses are listed as
35 amps. The 1500 MGA wiring is practically identical to the TD's.

So, I would use a Lucas rated 35 amp fuse in both locations. Lucas
fuses are listed as "35 blow" and "17 hold". If US BUSS fuses are used
the fuse should be a 17 amp slow blow fuse. The TD's generator output
is only 17 or 19 amps and the lamps aren't fused on the TD.
