Circlips for Girling dampers (shock absorbers)

I finally have my spare Girling apart, and discovered to my horror that the 
fout circlips which link the two pistons are all broken.  Can anyone tell me 
if these little jewels are ordinary (or specialized) items ??  If they are 
specialized, where can I get them???  Same applies to the core plugs which, 
at 1&1/8 inch diameter) are musc smaller than any I've seen thus far.
