Hello everyone !
I am new to this list as I just became a "T series" owner this week. I
thought before I jump in and start asking a million questions I would
introduce myself.
My husband and I are now the proud owners of a 1954 MGTF. We have been
looking for almost 3 years for a TF that we could call our own. We already
own a 1977 MG Midget and a 1959 (work in progress) Chevy Apache 1 ton
pickup. We live in Rochester NY and belong to the Western NY MG Car Club. At
our last monthly meeting it was brought up that a TF had recently come up
for sale in our area and that it would be worth looking at. The car is a
right hand drive auto that was originally purchased by George Mennen(Mennen
products owner-so we were told)and shipped to Australia. Later it was
shipped to its second owner in the states and restored sometime in the
1970's or 80's. The next owner had the engine and brakes rebuilt. It has now
been sitting in a garage for the last 3 years. As a result the battery is
dead, the clutch is stuck , and the brakes seem to be dragging. It did start
and seemed to run ok.
My first question to the list is....what would be some good reading material
to familiarize us with this car? Repair and maintenance books? Service
manuals?
Sorry for such a long intro . Any help to this newbie would be greatly
appreciated!!

Thanks
Dick & Marlene
