Terry,

That's the way my J2 was. Alternately, mount the rear via gearbox or
cross-shaft (I'm not sure of the configuration on the NA), then lift the
engine and bolt the front mount to the engine. Does that make any sense?

Gents, I'm about ready to trial fit the engine into the old NA....I see that

the radiator/front motor mount is very close to the cross member requiring,

think, that it be mounted on the front of the motor first and then the motor

put down into the chassis, then lifted up into position.....is this
correct??
