Hi Terry,
Similar story, an MG friend bougfht a basket case TC from an estate, which
also included a basket case TD, basket case TF and basket case WA Tickford.
Some 20 years later, after a complete and very fine careful restoration of
the TC, he tried to fit the windscreen. No matter where he put it, it just
did not fit and hit the cowl. I was able to measure my TC windscreen upright
pieces and we found the dimensions were different on the verticals. Measured
my TD and they matched his measurements. Botton line, the vertical
windscreen pieces from the TD had been supplied with the TC. Fortunately I
knew who had bought the basket TD and no work had been done on the car so
the windscreen vertical pieces were switch back and now two cars were right.
The TD guy got the best deal as he received rechromed pieces for his
un-chromed TC pieces.

May I take this opportunity to attach my list of MG parts and services which
may be of interst to the readers.
Thanks and best regards for the Holiday Season. Bob

Gents, I just bought an unfinished TC project from the widow of the gent who
disassembled my NA in 1960. When I got it, after passing through 4 other
hands, it had a pair of head light brackets with it that would not fit no
matter
how I tried. Finally scored a pair of NA brackets from Don Wasserman who
hadn't used them on his NA boy racer. Then the wings would fit, just
barely.

Last week while picking up the TC, I found a box of N type bits including
the
two head light brackets and the original speedo cable with gearbox attached.
I've photographed the N brackets along side the TC brackets to show the
difference...its subtle but significant!! If anyone would like to see this
comparison, let me know and I'll email you the photo.

One of those little MG things that drive one nutz!!

Happy Holidays!
Terry
