Hi Fellows,

While replacing my side valences this morning, I discovered what I believe
to be original paint under the bonnet hold down brackets.

1. My PA came from the factory as duotone red (Saratoga/Carmine reds). This
paint sample seems to indicate the valences were originally the darker color
of the wing. Is this correct on duotones? It may be an overspray or ... soaked
in engine oil for 70 years, but I tend to think not, given the location
under the bracket.

2. I've given the new wood several coats of preservative ... what else prior
to covering with aluminum? Is this an application for the special paint
covered some weeks ago? I've let the name get away from me. PRO 15 or
something?

I'm using .032 dead soft aluminum sheet as that's what my local shop
determined to be the current covering.

Comments and suggestions?

Don B.
