This is not as difficult as it sounds. I have fixed a few of them where I
have used inner tube to replace the rubber diaphragm and piano wire to
replace the actuation arm. I have used POR 15 to seal the canister. Think
out of the box....they are repairable. This is a very simple device.

Spent some time friday working on a right hand drive Elan that a local
enthusiast had shipped over from England a while back. Nice little car.
Too bad the vacuum operated headlight pods don't pop up like they should.
I hear the parts to fix are basically impossible to find. What fun.
