Another couple of ways to outsmart mother nature beside what the others have
said - Tuff Tow (sp?) sells a dolly wheel setup that goes under the trailer
tongue (the swivel needs to be locked for backing up) , by it self wont stop
sway but would allow high tongue weight and needs no load leveling bars - In
the '60s A J Watson's brother in Indianapolis made a similar swiveling caster
assembly with a built in spring that took the entire tongue weight , the
tongue would pivot like a tow bar and the rear axel could be far back - Some
kind of sprung , non pivoting wheel assembly under the tongue might be good
(the spread axel 18 wheeler trailers worked) , little tongue weight needed ,
would eliminate all sway problems - Anything that lengthens the trailer or
shortens the truck rear o'hang helps .
