Jim, I normally use a 3/8" reach in my stock head GMC. The heat ranges I
like are getting very hard to come by. I now use a 1/2" reach with plenty
of heat ranges available. I use the stock gasket and a "degreeing" copper
gasket without any problems. J.D.
