Ahem,

Sigma = The Standard Deviation on a Bell-shaped (normal) distribution curve.

1 sigma = 68.26%
2 sigma = 95.46%
3 sigma = 99.73%
6 sigma = 99.99%

So your 95% confidence level would be 2 sigma or 2 standard deviations from
the norm or mean (Is Norm really mean? ... is he a Standard Deviant?)

"6-Sigma" Quality-Assurance was coined by former GE CEO, Jack Welsh as the
standard to be met in all GE production outputs. Others copied his example,
and it became an industry goal ... although most never reach it (but I
digress).

[finally finding a use for some useless facts]

(OK, I pulled open my Project Management bible ... but I really did have to
memorize those numbers for that exam I took last year ... which so far has
gotten me zilch ... but I digress)

Oh, forgot to ask, what is the1 sigma number (ie standard deviation)? And
what about the 95% confidence? Man we can go wild here! Is there a CEP in
here somewhere? NAh...prolly not...
