I plan on running in MPS-G. If I have no luck there I think I'll pull the
fairings and windshield and run naked in M-G (somehow I don't think it will
be that simple). My odds are much better there (169.464). Steel valve stems
are a new one to me. The rule book states that angled valve stems must be
secured to resist centrifugal force deflection but otherwise it just states
they should be fitted with metal caps. I'm not quite sure what an angled
valve stem is. I wonder if I'll ever get the bike in compliance. The bike is
designed to handle race conditions out of the showroom. I hope the adrenalin
rush is worth all this...

May be stupid answers though...

What class are you intending to run in?

Metal valve stems are required in all race categories. Rubber valve stems
suck into the rim and leak. Metal valve caps help keep the guts in the
valve from allowing the air to escape when the centrifugal forces get too
high.

Gas tanks are sealed at the ERC trailer when you get gas. If you qualify
for a record they will check to see that the seal is intact.
