Street roadsters were always subject to interpretation. Back in the middle
80's Clarence Everett, a famous flathead drag racer, held the flathead
street roadster record. He told that tech was not going to let him run
because it had fuel injection. Those were the days of tech inspection at
the airport, so he said it was streetable and had his wife drive it from the
airport to the salt to prove his point. They let him run and he set the
record that stood for many years until Flatfire. Clarence is gone now, but
remains as one of the flathead heroes.
