I've sort of been following this thread with some interest and ,while not
"tired"of it,have lost the big picture somewhere along the way.My point is, who
would benefit and in what way if this dream were reality today?The flip side
is,who would  (if anyone) be negatively impacted?Seems there are individuals as
well as organizations that have somethig to gain or loose.Would organizations
like SCTA,USFRA,ECTA,etc. be willing to give up some independence to achieve a
common standard?Do individual racers feel the need for a "world record"
standard,particularly if it might mean more rules or higher costs?I don't have a
paticular point of view either way,but to stay interested I believe folks need 
to
see some strong benefits and few if any negatives.Just what I think.
