Many of these cars had the engine transmission and rear end bolted together
in one piece and pivoted the engine at the front to make it part of the
suspension.  The original Goldenrod streamliner we used to race was set up
this way.  A 49-53 Ford transmission tail shaft was installed in the older
gearbox and it was long enough to become the lower shaft of the quickchange.

The Carrillo car is now owned by Rich Venza of Rod n' race fiberglass in
Maryland.

Finally took a good look at this.  It does have rear suspension, but I don't
see how it would have space for a drive shaft to move through an arc.  Do
you think the whole engine/differential moved together?
