I have two fuel pumps on my BJ8 =E2=80=93 the stock SU and an electric pump=
from Autozone.=C2=A0=C2=A0They are wired with a switch to select either pu=
mp, or turn both off.=C2=A0I can=E2=80=99t count the times the car failed t=
o start in the morning after a night at a motel or starting but running out=
of gas in the parking lot when I forgot=C2=A0to turn the switch back on.=
=C2=A0 One=C2=A0one occasion in the middle of nowhere in Montana I felt the=
car slowing down and failing to accelerate until it occurred to me the act=
ive (Autozone) fuel pump was failing.=C2=A0=C2=A0Switching to the SU kept m=
e going another 160 miles until I could get to civilization and discover it=
was the backup pump that failed.=C2=A0The local Autozone in North Dakota h=
ad an identical replacement that I got installed in 15 minutes.=C2=A0=C2=A0=
It is also convenient sometimes when working on the car with the ignition s=
witch on to be able to prevent the fuel pump from running.

o install by splicing into the appropriate wire at the fuse block. I have o=
ne in my BN7 to address dieseling after nothing=C2=A0else worked. Simply ru=

Lockable doors don't seem to be much of a theft deterrent. Having lived in =
Boston for many years in the age of British sports cars, I saw plenty with =
broken vent windows or slashed convertible tops that defeated locked doors.=
