As I recall Simon the blower squirrel cage is just a press fit on the motor=
shaft. Although I have never come across it I can imagine that it could co=
me loose, particularly if the plastic squirrel cage hub is cracked.
Be VERY careful when trying to remove the motor from the Bakelite blower ca=
sing as the "studs" are actually only hex head screws the heads of which ar=
e located in hexagonal holes and if forced the case will crack to allow the=
head to turn. If the nuts are tight I recommend cutting the nut with a Dre=
mel to save the case.

Subject: [Healeys] Blower Motor

Hi,
Happy New Year folks.
Cold here so I thought I'd turn the blower on to raise the temperature in m=
y MkII BT7 from frigid to cold. So far as I can see, there is nothing comin=
g out of said blower. No air, lukewarm or whatever. Now, the motor was runn=
ing....a) I could hear it and b) I could see the volt meter increase/decrea=
se for a second when I switched it on/off.
So, the question is:- Can the blades become detached from the spindle? ie s=
eemingly, we have the motor spinning but the blades remaining stationary. M=
ake sense? Anyone encountered this one?
Thanks,
Simon
