The steering box for your Healey is the same as my BT7. The steering =
column housing is solder into the box. It can be removed but it is =
something you probably don=E2=80=99t want to do because it can be =
difficult to solder back on and get a complete seal. The reason I know =
this is a had the box and column powder coated and the powder coat melts =
about the same temperature as solder and I had to resolder the column =
with a higher temperature solder and have it powder coated again.

=20

You need a long box to ship it. =F0=9F=98=8A You should be able to find =
one, if not get a box and a tube for the column and assemble one.

I'm wanting to have my 1965 BJ8 steering box refurbed?

=20

My mechanical prowess is the ability to unbolt something, send it out to =
have fixed, and bolting it back on.

=20

Who's the guy who rebuilds Healey steering boxes?

=20

Do I need to send the entire steering column(s)?

=20

If not, Can I remove just the steering box from the car or does the =
whole column need to come out?

=20

If so, How the heck do I ship an entire steering column?

=20

I live in Connecticut 40 minutes from NYC.
