recall, his father-in-law bought all the overdrive spares when Laycock sto=

As explained to me Dave Twigger the purpose of the kickdown switch is to pr=
event the overdrive unit being subjected to reverse torque which it is not =
designed to handle.

As I=C2=A0 understand it, if the overdrive is treated with respect, and the=
clutch is used during disengagement there will be no problems but, if you =
flip the switch off when cruising at high speed without using the clutch to=
minimize the reverse loading on the overdrive, the planetary gear assembly=
can be severly damaged.=C2=A0
