It's even a little more complicated than that.
The BJ8 block is different from the earlier 3000 type in that it has the
dip stick in a different position and I'm told improved internal gusseting,
although I have ever actually compared the 2 types.
Boring a 100/6 block to 3000 can be done but is *VERY* risky as detailed
here.
