I have rebuilt these by drilling out the rivets, disassembling and
cleaning the contacts etc. Make sure that turning the knob operates the
moveable contact. If the spring is NG it must be replaced if you can find
one. A little lube helps. Reassemble using small screws and nuts instead
of rivets.
If there are any broken parts, then you probably need a new switch.
Rather expensive, but one of the $3.95 green battery switches is a very
economical substitution.
