FYI,

At the Pro Solo Finale and Nationals with just one driver and fresh
batteries and a Palm III:

I used Mark's power on/off sequence for the booster and then the Palm.

For each set of runs which was all 4 or 5 (one rerun) runs of a Pro heat, I
left the Palm in autostart and did not power off the Palm or the booster. I
powered on before being called to grid from pregrid and powered off in
impound.

Same for each day of Nationals. Power on as the class (38 drivers) started
its first runs and then off after my last run. Used about less than half of
the battery life in the Palm.

Ran a local event last weekend with two sets of 4 runs each and about 10
minutes between each of the 4 runs in a set. Same proceedure of leaving
everything on for a set of runs. Battery (same ones used at Nats) just
under half remaining per palm gauge. Since the booster battery was very
healthy per the duracell battery tester, before Nats when the Palm was run
down (changed it anyway), I suspect the booster is fine.

Hopefully this means that Palm III battery life is fine if you have healthy
batteries at the beginning of an event and leave it on for a half hour or
more "several" times during the event.
