I agree with Jason on the location of the regulator. My Holly regulator is m=
ounted on the firewall bulkhead, with a tap for the fuel pressure gauge on t=
he dash right off the regulator.
My GT6 runs triple webers, 6 AN line from the rear. The pump is a facet 40=E2=
=80=93105, puts out plenty of fuel flow. It=E2=80=99s rated at one to four p=
si. My regulator is set for a three psi discharge. Webers don=E2=80=99t like=
 to see any more than that.. Fuel filter in the rear upstream of the pump. I=
t=E2=80=99s a fram canister filter.
As a sidenote, I think having the fuel pressure gauge visible is handy so yo=
u have a confirmation that the fuel pump is working fine. That said, those f=
acets seem to run forever, and I just replaced my first one after 15 years.
One thing I think you=E2=80=99ll find with the webers, which are great, is t=
hat they have big float bowls. When you shut off the car, shut off the fuel p=
ump first, and let it run a couple minutes to drain down the fuel bowls. Tha=
t way you don=E2=80=99t have hot fuel from the exhaust manifold heat when yo=
u try to start the car again.
Seems to work much better! I=E2=80=99m usually killing the fuel pump as I ro=
ll off the track into the pits.
