Anyone know if the screw would be SAE on my '66 and metric on Stan's '69?

Hi Pete and list,
the 311 Roadsters were SAE up to Engine No. R-40000 and the engine is a 3
main.
>From #R-40001 the fasteners were converted to the ISO Metric system and the
engine is a 5 main.
The one you seek is either a 1/4 x 20TPI(UNC) or M6 x 1.5mm depending on
above.
Disclaimer:
If older parts have been fitted to your car, there may be a mix of thread
