>I popped the hood, and out of a metal pipe a few inches to the "drivers" side of the hood latch was a good trickle of gas dripping on my starter. I also have a 70, equiped with Solex/Mikunis. I have a cap on the return line. Before I capped it, It would spill gas, just as you described, on hard braking. Cap it and check the cap often.
