I've had one on my roadster for a while now and there's been no problems.
They are popular on older Japanese bikes as for some reason they had really
bad speedo's.
Mines worked fine up to an indicated 100MPH.  I did mine because with the
4.11 rear end my speed was way off.  It indicated 100MPH when I was only
going 80MPH.
