To update you all on my engine timing troubles.......The balancer has checked
out fine, it did not rotate on its hub. The cam timing was off by one tooth.
(The upper chain did jump a tooth.) After returning it to its original
location, I still have only 90 psi compression on all 4 cylinders. The
consensus is
that I bent valves in each cylinder. I will do a CLT test to comfirm but all
indicators point in that direction. I have also been advised to pull the
engine to check the clutch disc friction surface to see if it may have spun and
broke the rivets, causing my harmonic imbalance. As long as it is necessary to
pull everything apart I am probably going back together with a SR20DET. I
have had the urge to do that for a while now. I will be selling some of my
goodies to pay for the Silvia Clip with engine and 5 speed trans.

fresh rebuilt servo style 5 speed with new 1-2 syncro ring, all new bearings,
welded 5th gear. Very tight trans. $600 with trans crossmember, driveshaft
and shifter plate if desired
