Speaking of Hummers, I used to see several each day on the road but in the 
last few weeks I haven't seen any which is a great relief to my eyes and 
sensibilities.

Another basically useless vehicle foisted on the public by shrewd marketing.

I guess if they were so important to have, people would still be using them 
despite gas prices but it's obvious that they were just toys for those who 
have too much money and to impress their neighbors.

Their huge gas tanks do serve as an emergency petroleum reserve however :)
